Beyond what limits does the medium light leads you in your work?
Light, used within a public art context, allows us to create very instinctive interaction experiences. Its qualities define the visual experience of any street, so through augmenting these qualities to produce something unexpected, allows for a synthesis between the artwork and the experience of the street itself.
In our project Shadowing we ensured that the intervention involved nothing but an alteration of the light coming from the streetlight. This allowed us to escape the limits of art as something separate from our normal daily-experience, as it was the light qualities of the city that became the intervention.
