Beyond what limits does the medium light leads you in your artistic work?
Lightpaintings allow me to challenge the traditional notions of perception we get from painting and sculpture. Is that which is created by light any less tangible than what is created with pigment? If variations in the ambient light change the piece is it any less real? In developing lightpaintings the initial challenge was to acquire enough control to create paintings. Once that was achieved the next phase was dealing with perception, illusion and dimension, letting the plane of the painting disappear, creating an altered state as object.
